One of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers has said she feels"angry and disgusted" by speculation that Ghislaine Maxwell could be pardoned following her recent prison transfer. Haley Robson, who testified against the convicted sex offender in 2021, told BBC Newsnight the rumours had left survivors"retraumatised". Maxwell, Epstein's former girlfriend and accomplice, was recently moved from a high-security Florida prison to a low-security facility in Texas. The Bureau of Prisons said the transfer was routine, but did not explain why it occurred now.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said"no leniency is being given or discussed" for Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and other crimes. But the timing of the transfer - coming weeks after President Trump said he would"look at" the case - has fuelled speculation. Maxwell was a regular visitor to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in the 1990s, and the president has previously called her a"great friend".

Ms Robson, now 34, was 17 when she says she was recruited by Maxwell to give Epstein massages that turned sexual."The idea that she could walk free while we live with this pain every day makes me sick," she told Newsnight."It sends the message that if you're rich and connected, justice doesn't apply to you."

Inmates live in dormitory-style housing rather than cells. Maxwell's lawyers have said the move was for"safety reasons", noting she has been assaulted twice in prison. But victims' advocates see it as the first step toward possible clemency.

Maxwell's 2021 conviction was seen as a measure of justice for his victims, but many feel the full story of Epstein's network remains untold.
